UK Transplant, a division of NHS Blood and Transplant, has appointed integrated marketing agency Bullet to increase sign-up to the NHS Organ Donation Register (ODR).
Bullet has been briefed to increase the number of partnerships in the corporate sector with companies with a corporate and social responsibility agenda. The aim is to persuade companies to make their employees and customers aware of the ODR.
The agency is initially aiming to secure meetings with company chief executives through an email campaign.
The activity marks the first time UK Transplant has looked to increase sign-up of the register through the corporate sector. Currently the largest single source of additions to the 14.6 million name register is through the DVLA, where licence-holders can fill in a form.
UK Transplant marketing and campaigns manager Angie Burton said: 'Although the number of people on the register is increasing, around 400 people die each year while waiting for a donor. We are keen to explore additional ways in which we can increase ODR sign-up.'
