creating animation

i experimented with creating a animation using one of my practical pieces influenced by my dissertation research.

DON'T LET THEM WIN. from Rebecca Williamson on Vimeo.
using after effects
though i swore never to use after effects/ or any other animation program again after last years stressful ordeal, i forced myself to try it again as my idea was forcing me into it! i surprising didn't mind the process as much as i thought as skills slowly came back to me and i was able to avoid mistakes i made mast time. however i am still very much a amateur on after effects!

developing on idea
developing on the idea of emphasising the numerous and amount of bugs that are attracted to a dead body, i have created the animation below which i hoped would show this gradual but fast process of the reproduction of bugs.

i like the fact that the visual is not hard-hitting, making it suitable for exposure in public places as it hopefully will not harm children or other groups of people. i like the idea that the message becomes hard hitting once you have read the information after being drawn in by the detailed illustrations which may appear nice to look at at first until they are put into context.

i have teamed the visuals up with a fact, persuasive tagline, charity name, and organ donation link to give the animation context.
i used the tagline 'don't let them win' - playing on the idea about how we are obviously the more dominant when alive, with the option to swap and kill them easily, but when we are dead, this is when they can get there revenge.

i am not entirely happy with the layout and font choice, however, this is just a experiment, if i was to take it further i would consult a graphic designer on there thought and advice.

how i would take it further
if i was to improve on this idea, or even just to use an animation. i would consider where it would exists. as this is a short animation, it could exist as a loop animation on tv's in waiting rooms - e.g doctors, hospitals, dentists. or even on digital bill boards/bus stops.
