experimenting with ways to visually show the journey adam has made- how far he has come

i really like how this image has a prominent shadow, which makes me think of how he has left the old him behind and is traveling and pushing forward with the new life he has been given with the gift of a heart transplant.

below i have tried to think of ways i can include this shadow as i think its a important message whilst visually communicating other elements of adams journey.
adding a quote from my interview with Adam and his past - when he was ill. i really liked this idea but unfortunately adding works into the shape hasn't work how i would have hoped, the shadow shape is not recognisable as a shadow of a figure and therefore looks really random.
experimenting with adding a pattern instead as this would fill the whole shape of the shadow making it more full and a recognisable figure shadow shape.

meningitis
i thought about replicating the microscope image of meningitis for the pattern to fill the shadow - communicating when Adam himself caught meningitis off his school friends who received the vaccination he was unable to get himself due to his heart transplant as he is not allowed vaccinations and immune system does not work.

again i liked this idea, and though i think the shape works better when it is a full pattern, i still think the shape looks random and contrast too much with the pencil drawing.
