original pencil drawings

i have chosen these images to draw from.
i wanted to use images of the woman when they are older or images of them which are not necessarily recognisable or linked to their achievements.

i thought by choosing images of the women when they are older will create a stronger impact to the viewer when they know what they have achieved in their life time- e.g. you would not link the words, empowering, independent, activist, strong, courageous with this picture of a old frail lady below (Rosa Parks) or image her to be arrested  for standing up for what she believed in.

because their are not elderly pictures of Amelia Earhart i thought this image would be suitable, as her career/acomplisments are not obvious in the image, and she just looks natural and happy-like the other picture of the woman i am drawing.

below i have experimented with line width i would add to the outline of the clothing.
though i like this technique or different width lines to provide a shadow effect, i think the contrast between the black line and the grey pencil drawing is to bold and looks to random next to each other. i think the delicate thin line with a pencil works better.
